Between the covers of this book” are layers of fragile dry leaves upon the surfaces of which have been applied the word STAY. Like the souvenir books we keep in old trunks and at the back of the bookshelf, this piece echoes the sentiment of trying to hold onto something we can’t keep. How long will it take for these leaves to turn to dust, leaving behind the poignancy of the scattered letters?
